Clean Steel Partnership (CSP)

General information about the Clean Steel partnership (presentation)

The EU Clean Steel Partnership (CSP) has started in June 2021 in the Frame of Horizon Europe in synergy with the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS). The public and private side agreed on a dedicated Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The public side is represented by DG RTD and DG Grow while the private side is represented by ESTEP. The main decision body for CSP is the Partnership Board.

The main document describing the Clean Steel Partnership is its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA).

The topics of the Clean Steel Partnership are part of the Horizon Europe Work Program in cluster 4 as well as in RFCS. Please type "Clean Steel" in the search box for Horizon Europe.

• Horizon Europe Work Programme:
  there are no open CSP calls in Horizon Europe. The work on call texts is ongoing for Horizon Europe Work Programme 2023/24.

• RFCS: 2021 + 2022 merged into RFCS Big Ticket Steel call 2022 (proposal submission deadline: 03 May 2022)

The September 2021 CSP calls in Horizon Europe evaluation considers 5 projects to be selected for funding. The projects will start in 2022.
