The European Steel Technology Platform (ESTEP), EU Steel Association (EUROFER) and the European Research Agency (REA) will held a collaborative dialogue on " The future of EU steel research – How to foster EU steel leadership " on 26 November 2025 at the SMS-Group facilities in Mönchengladbach (Germany).

The aim of this event is to dive into groundbreaking technologies, uncover strategies for achieving sustainability goals, and tackle the pressing challenges shaping the EU steel industry. This will also be the opportunity to disseminate steel R&D projects in Europe and beyond, focusing on topics such as:
- low to zero emission iron and steel production;
- closing the loop: raw materials, circularity, and industrial symbiosis.
