ESTEP annual event – How decarbonisation, digitisation, and circular solutions forge the sustainable European steel future

Plant Visit

Welcome to the registration page of the “ESTEP annual event – How decarbonisation, digitisation, and circular solutions forge the sustainable European steel future” in Udine (Italy).

The event will start on 28 October 2025 with an optional visit of of Acciaierie Bertoli Safau SpA (ABS) facilities. It will be followed on 29 & 30 October 2025 with a two-days technical conference (in person). The complete conference will take place at the Biblioteca Rizzi of the Udine University (Università degli Studi di Udine, Via Fausto Schiavi 44, Udine) (separate registration page).

Programme - 28 October: Visit of Acciaierie Bertoli Safau (ABS) facilities + Networking Aperitif (evening) & Palazzo Antoni-Stringher Tour

Please note : Limited places: only first 50 registered people will be admitted to the plant visit.
Buses will be foreseen for the plant visit. In order to ease the visit, participants will be divided into 2 groups and will visit alternatively both the QWR 4.0 and steelmaking facilities.
After the plant visit, transportation will be guaranteed back to Biblioteca Rizzi and to Udine downtown (where most of the recommended hotels are located).
You will be requested to send a copy of your ID by e-mail to events@estep.eu in order to facilitate the ABS visit and comply with safety requirements.

08.30 : Registration at Biblioteca Rizzi

09.00 - 12.45 : Visit of steelmaking facilities (Group 1) + Visit of QWR 4.0 (Group 2)

12.45 - 13.45 : Lunch

13.45 - 17.00 : Visit of QWR 4.0 (Group 1) + Visit of steelmaking facilities (Group 2)

19.30 - 22.00 : Networking aperitif & tour at Palazzo Antonini-Stringher

Protective equipment (helmet, glass, visibility jacket) will be provided by ABS.
