AIMET - Conference on AI in Metallurgy, Mechelen, Belgium 28–30 September 2026

The European Steel Technology Platform (ESTEP) presented the key aspects of PRISMA EU Project, highlighting the main findings and approaches of the project under the title “Digitalisation as a Decarbonisation accelerator: ESTEP's Integrated Approach to Sustainable Steel Production”.

It was particularly valuable to see how experiences from different metal sectors can complement each other and contribute to accelerating the adoption of AI, Digital Twins and data-driven solutions in industry.

A big thank you to Flanders Metals Valley (FMV) for organising this excellent conference and for providing such a valuable opportunity to share our results, exchange experiences, and connect with colleagues across different metal sectors.

Technical Workshop 21–24 September 2026

On 21–24 September 2026, the PRISMA Consortium held its Technical workshop at the premises of the PRIMETAL in Erlangen, Germanay for an intensive technical workshop focused on advancing the project’s technical architecture and preparing the development of the first prototype.

Key highlights from the workshop
🔹 Technical Architecture: Project Partners engaged in in-depth discussions on the overall PRISMA architecture, reviewing available pilot data and making key decisions on the structure and integration of the PRISMA solution.
🔹 Component Integration: Particular attention was given to how the different technical components will interact and work together to support the development of the first prototype.
🔹 Unified Environmental Data Model (UEDM): The UEDM was reviewed and aligned with the different data formats, structures, and requirements identified across the pilots. This is an important step towards ensuring the consistent integration and effective use of real-world pilot data throughout the project.

On 28–29 January 2026, the PRISMA Consortium held its plenary meeting at the premises of the European Steel Technology Platform (ESTEP) in Brussels, Belgium. The plenary meeting also provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions on collaboration between partners, alignment of technical objec tives, and planning for upcoming milestones and dissemination activities.
